Hmm, some clarifications about that grid paper, is the one on page 4 what she uses in elementary school? Is that called vertically ruled or horizontally ruled? Just curious…

You know in China we use 稿纸 sometimes for writing compositions, which looks like that rotated by 90 degrees and without individual grid for the narrow part, like this :p

  I personally consider it neither, the editor consider it horizontally ruled.
  In actuality, it is neither; it’s just “kanji practice paper” or something.
  The closest English equivalent would just be grid / graph paper (without translating it directly), I guess?

    In that case, since 稿纸 is considered horizontally ruled, 原稿用纸 looks more like vertical ruled to me XD
    
    It’s weird when they say it can be used horizontally though… I remember seeing Touma from A certain magical index writing an essay vertically on that.
